
D. Michal “Mike” Ballard
Broadview Principal
Mike Ballard is an owner and co-founder of Broadview & Co. Mr. Ballard has extensive financial, managerial and executive experience from his 15-year corporate career as a CFO and CEO of several successful companies. He has been an active real estate investor since 2004 when he first became involved in the purchase, renovation and sale of financially stressed single-family residences. Mr. Ballard then moved on to buy apartment buildings in the southeastern United States and had purchased several apartment communities prior to the formation of Broadview. Since co-founding in Broadview in 2011, Mr. Ballard has been the co-leader of the acquisition of more than 30 multi-family properties, consisting of well over 3,000 combined units. A number of these properties have been sold, with average annual returns well in excess of 20%. The remainder of the multi-family properties continue to operate profitably. During Mr. Ballard’s tenure, Broadview has acquired and now operates over 160 single-family rental properties. Mr. Ballard and some of his deals have been highlighted in the New York Times, Seattle Times, and Forbes.com.
Mike Ballard holds BS degrees in Business Administration/Finance and Communications and a BA in Economics from Central Washington University, as well as an MBA with concentrations in Finance, Economics, and Statistics from The University of Chicago. Prior to and during his undergraduate studies Mr. Ballard was a United States Marine. He is the former Chairman of the Education Fund of North Seattle College, which operates an endowment fund of $7.0 million and provides scholarships for over 250 students annually. He is an avid golfer and guitarist and was awarded a World Championship ring by the Seattle Supersonics for his services to the team in 1979.

Michael K. Matysik
Broadview Principal
Mike Matysik is an owner and co-founder of Broadview & Co. With over 30 years of professional business experience, Mr. Matysik has been a part-time real estate investor for nearly 20 years, with investments in commercial, multi-family and single-family properties. Since co-founding in Broadview in 2011, Mr. Matysik has co-led the acquisition of more than 30 multi-family properties, consisting of well over 3,000 combined units. A number of these properties have been sold, with average annual returns well in excess of 20%. The remainder of the multi-family properties continue to operate profitably. Under Mr. Matysik’s direction, Broadview has also acquired and now operates over 160 single-family rental properties. More recently, Broadview has become involved in development and has assembled properties that are being developed as apartments and townhomes.
Mr. Matysik’s professional experience prior to Broadview includes service as a senior executive with several companies in industries ranging from health care and medical device to music and media, manufacturing, technology and distribution. He has IPO experience and served for nearly 10 years as a public company Chief Financial Officer. A partial list of Companies Mr. Matysik has served with includes Deloitte, Cardiac Science, Quinton, Corning, Nichols, AEI & DMX Music and Emulate Diagnostics. Mr. Matysik has raised well over $500 million in debt and equity financing and has negotiated and structured dozens of merger & acquisition transactions valued in excess $500 million during his career. Mr. Matysik is also a co-founding principal and currently serves part-time with Berntson Porter Corporate Advisory Services, a boutique investment bank providing M&A services to small and mid-sized companies and fund-raising services for select start-up companies. With BP-CAS and independently, Mr. Matysik has helped secure early stage funding for such companies as Emulate Diagnostics, Elevat and Vicis.
Mr. Matysik holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of Washington and an MBA from the University of Southern California, where he was a Graduate Business Fellow and Rockwell International Scholar.

Robert L. Montgomery II
Partner, Middle Georgia
Robert is an Alcorn State University and Tougaloo College alumnus. He began his professional career as a retail department manager and transitioned into the hospitality industry. He “cut his teeth” in the hotel industry with such brands as Hyatt, Marriott and Bristol. While with Bristol, he served as a department manager and later as a department head.
Robert has extensive management experience in the fields of hospitality, multi-family housing, retail and manufacturing. These experiences have led to his pragmatic approach to identifying viable business opportunities, negotiations, project management and tenant relations.
Robert has over 15 years of experience in property management and has been with Broadview since 2012. Broadview SFGA (Single Family Georgia) is one of the fastest growing single family management companies in Central Georgia. This is due, in part, to his passion for and to his commitment towards the Broadview motto of “Improving Communities, Building Wealth”.

Kim Siegrist
Finance Manager
Kim is an experienced finance professional with more than 20 years of banking, leadership and entrepreneurial experience. Kim’s diverse banking career spans multiple disciplines, ranging from film finance, loan portfolio management and internal audit to underwriting new loans for mid-market companies. All told, Kim has underwritten and managed more than $500 million of loans in her career. Kim was a Senior Vice President and member of the Executive Credit Committee at Coast Business Credit in Los Angeles, where she managed a $350 million national loan portfolio. At Heller International in Chicago, Kim was a Vice President and Team Leader in the Internal Audit Department where she led teams in loan reviews of 7 business units. Kim began her career at General Electric, where she worked in Information Management Systems at GE Plastics and in GE Capital’s Corporate Finance Group where she analyzed and underwrote a variety of debt transactions and managed teams of analysts. Kim is also a certified yoga instructor and the co-owner of Yoga Reset, which provides yoga for health care professionals at a variety of Seattle area hospitals and cancer research facilities. Kim has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bryant University.

Mary Jo Schafer
Business Manager
Mary Jo Schafer has been with Broadview since 2012, shortly after its formation, as a Business Manager. She handles day-to-day business and accounting tasks for various aspects of the Broadview business. Mary Jo brings with her 30 plus years of accounting experience, including general accounting, operations management and software business analysis. Mary Jo has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an accounting major from the University of South Dakota and a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from California Baptist University.

Maya Shinn
Staff Accountant
Maya moved to the US from Indonesia in 1997 after working for GE Capital as a Risk Analyst. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in Indonesia with a concentration in marketing. After arriving in the United States, she earned her MBA from City University with a general business major. After taking a break to raise her young child, she returned to the workforce performing accounting and other administrative functions. She started working with Broadview in 2018 where she is a Staff Accountant.
